Sony Announced the Winner of World of Film 2022 Competition

Sony India Pvt Ltd through its division company Sony South East Asia in 2021 announced the World of Film, an initiative to celebrate Sony’s legacy and continued commitment to the movie making world. Whether it be involvement with high profile blockbuster studios or an individual crafting their indie film, Sony is committed in their creative journey every step of the way through the power of their Alpha series interchangeable lens cameras and Cinema Line camera series.

“In India, professional photography has come full circle, consumers are now spending more time honing their photography skills, resulting in an increase in mature photography and film making. I congratulate the winners and commend them on their remarkable efforts and achievement. People from all around India have been inspired to pursue a career in professional photography and bring their imagination to life with Sony.” said Mukesh Srivastava, Head of Digital Imaging at Sony India.

Sony ran a filmmaking competition as part of the campaign; the competition began on 2nd August 2021 and ran until the end of the year on 31st December 2021. In both categories, fiction and non-fiction film video were accepted for submission. Sony India is delighted to reveal the winners of the following categories for 2022:

Open Category: The award is bagged by the film  “ A Walk For Water” by Jaideep Mishra “A Walk for Water" will be awarded a Alpha 7S III + SEL2470Z Lens as a National level winner

College Category: The award was bagged by Media Education and Research Center- Kashmir University for the film “ An Unknown Environmentalist” the film was awarded a Sony Cinema Line FX3 + SEL 1635GM and Sony wireless headphone WH-1000XM4 (4 units) and exclusive workshop on Sony Digital Imaging.

Both Films have also entered to compete at International level (Asia Pacific) competition, for which the winners will be announced around March – April 2022
