In the post-pandemic era, the Indian IT industry is growing well as the reopening of the offices, markets and educational institutions is generating good demand for IT products. Among all, Laptop is the one segment which has gained utmost growth. The adoption of laptops among professionals and students is bringing huge opportunities for partners. Vendors and partners are working aggressively to pick and leverage these opportunities. While talking to Digital Terminal, DP Sinha, Managing Director, Graphline Computers Pvt. Ltd shared his views upon the adoption of laptops, market scenario and much more. Read below the excerpts:

Plans to Grab The Opportunities

The laptop segment has picked up a quite good momentum in recent years as the demand has increased from various segments, especially corporate who now rely on hybrid work model. The modern work lifestyle is agile and mobility is one of the leading factors that have contributed to the huge adoption of laptops. Opportunities are huge for partners, but stock availability is one major challenge in current scenario. We have great plan and fund to pick up Laptop assignments but issue remains the same which is supply on time. We are getting max 20% material against our order. TAT is very high in commercial segment (almost 120 days +),” said DP Sinha, Managing Director, Graphline Computers Pvt. Ltd.

This situation has been really creating a lot of challenge for partners who are not able to deliver the products due to shortage in timely delivery. Even the corporate or commercial laptop sales have been affected and partners are looking towards their brands to resolve this ongoing challenge. “We do only commercial series laptop of only one brand which is HP. Currently we are much worried as we are getting no support from principal company as far as supply is concern because of raw material shortage(Processor and Display Screen),” commented by DP Sinha.

Challenges with eCommerce

E-commerce is a major platform in today’s time as customers now prefer buying online especially in post COVID world. But selling on platforms also poses certain challenges. Speaking about the presence on online platforms, DP Sinha said, “We were doing business through E-commerce platform earlier but now a days we are not doing because of payment issue from E-commerce vendor.”

As due to challenge with eCommerce too, the company is focusing majorly on commercial projects only. “we are doing only commercial segment product and most of corporate buy product after comparing various quotes from competition and also buy on credit,” concluded by Mr. Sinha.
