Western Digital announced the winner of its maiden WD_Black Cup 2021 14-day long eSports tournament on March 21st. Global Esports, one of the teams that participated in this mega eSports tournament emerged as the winner. Over 128 teams participated in WD_Black Cup from across India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. Team Mahi secured the runner-up position in this tournament. The grand finale witnessed a deadly battle between the finalist Team Mahi and team Global Esports.

Throughout the eSports gaming tournament, both teams played really well and showed the exceptional display of their gaming skills. Team Godlike Esports secured the 2nd runner-up position whereas other teams like The RAD Syndicate, Reckoning Esports, and team QQQ secured 3rd, 4th and 5th positions respectively.

WD_Black Cup was a 14-day intense eSports tournament and got the participation from the best teams. This gaming tournament was based on the Valorant game which is a top-class high-end game. With the successful conclusion of WD_Black Cup 2021, the gaming ecosystem in India has definitely got a boost as global teams have participated in this tournament and the homegrown teams got a golden chance to interact and compete with them. The underdog teams had a golden chance to play and prove their talent against some of the most renowned gaming squads.

The WD_Black Cup tournament saw amazing competition since day 1 and all the gaming teams put huge efforts to qualify for the big stages. But only the best teams could make it to the Semi-finals and Finals. Notably, Team Global Esports who emerged as the winner displayed awesome gameplay throughout the tournament.

Western Digital partnered with AMD Ryzen for this amazing gaming tournament which gave us the best gaming team. The tournament was live-streamed on The Esports Club’s YouTube channel and got an amazing response from the viewers. The grand finale was watched by over 2.5 Lakh viewers which is a huge number.

The Prize pool for WD_Black Cup 2021 was Rs. 4,00,000 and it was given to the top 6 teams. Team Global Esports got a cash prize of Rs. 2,00,000 for earning the top spot. Team Mahi which was named 1st runner up received a cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000 whereas team Godlike Esports won 50,000 cash prize. On the other hand, remaining teams like The RAD Syndicate, Reckoning Esports, and team QQQ were given a cash prize of Rs. 25,000, 15,000 and 10,000 respectively. WD_Black Cup provided a prolific opportunity to the gaming enthusiasts for marking their presence on the global level and get good exposure in the gaming community.
