Rajeev: Deploying the right set of technology solutions in business to get better results is a very complex task, so what was your actual evaluation process of Bikanervala’s business?
Gurpreet: It is of paramount importance to adopt solutions as per the need of the business in order to ensure efficiency and better results. Earlier, Bikanervala had deployed multi-vendor IT infrastructure that included key applications in SAP, NAV (Microsoft Dynamics), Multiple ERP App, and infrastructure deployed on dated IT hardware. Hence, there was a need for virtualization to help the company scale rapidly and reduce costs.
To understand their requirements and provide them with a solution as per their business needs, we had multiple round of discussions and conducted workshops with IT teams of Bikanervala. We found that the key business challenge for them was outdated hardware based on legacy technology. Along with this, the de-centralized location made it difficult to integrate all the information and data from their IT systems in the head office and its branches across the globe. We further studied their infrastructure setup, analyzed it, and came to the conclusion that their infrastructure was old and expensive to manage. Moreover, all critical workloads had a single point of failure. In order to solve Bikanervala’s IT infrastructure challenges, we introduced Dell Technologies’ VxRail solution - to help them run their operations flawlessly 24X7, while integrating all their data and applications across IT systems globally.
Rajeev: Please brief about those major technological reforms that you brought in the Bikanervala’s IT infrastructure. How would these reforms helped Bikanervala to compete in this digital era?
Gurpreet: Through our in-depth analysis of Bikanervala’ s IT setup, we were able to understand that their major challenge was outdated IT solutions. The multi-vendor setup was not able to integrate all information and data from multiple locations and systems. Hence, we wanted Bikanervala to have access to the latest technology that possesses the ability to meet their growing business needs.
We were confident that the adoption of new age IT solutions will help Bikanervala be future-ready, by providing the ability to scale their IT and have access to different cloud models. This new - age technology deployment allows Bikanervala to deliver enhanced business outcomes and increase their customers' satisfaction levels.
