The ‘Tally Xcelerator’ Program was introduced to assist the small and medium businesses by offering them business consultancy services. The program is designed to promote the growth of innovative and highly competent SMEs in India. In a recent interaction with DT, Mr. Joyce Ray, India Business Head of Tally Solutions Pvt. Ltd. shared more information about this program and their plans for expansion.
DT: What has been the most important factor which helped Tally to become the leader in Indian ERP solution market?

DT: Please brief us on your ‘Tally Xcelerator’ Program.
Mr. Joyce: India is one of the fastest developing economy, with the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector becoming an essential division. It not only provides large-scale employment opportunities at minimized costs, but are also co-competing with the larger industries, contributing to the socio-economic development of the country.
The ‘Tally Xcelerator’ Program was introduced to assist the small and medium businesses by offering them business consultancy services. The program is designed to promote the growth of innovative and highly competent SMEs in India,thereby contributing to the development of a dynamic private sector and entrepreneurial culture within. In this program, Tally has appointed partners called Tally Xcelerators, which will extend business advisory services playing the role of the coach, mentor or a trainer to not just for the Tally’s partners but also the – small and medium scale businesses across the country.Through this program, SMEs will be helped to better realize their trade and investment opportunities which will encourage them to become competitive in both, domestic and global market.
DT: How it helps SMEs to grow in a competitive business environment?
Mr. Joyce: The TX Program instills a can-do spirit by building self-confidence and making a partner/businessman aware of his/her potential and competitive advantage in the market place. Tally Xcelerator helps build/rebuild leadership behaviors,which make entrepreneurs recognize and acknowledge that:
Under the TX Program, businesses are mainly offered two types of services, viz. Business Advisory Services and Basic Services. While a new business entrant may require funding and market entry, an established set-up may require assistance with new market penetration, change management, innovation and effective governance. The advisory services in the TX Program include mentoring and coaching, better access to finance, better organizational culture and industry best practices to improve growth and productivity. Businesses looking for advisory services, will be able to avail the benefits at a very nominal cost; moreover, these businesses can also opt-in for services on the basis of their requirement or select a pre-packaged option designed for specific size of business.On the other hand, the Basic Services comprises of resource management, training, assessment and many more which are at no extra charge to our partner community.
DT: How do you appoint TX Partner and how do you train them?
Mr. Joyce: Tally Xcelerator Partners are independent and experienced experts, who are equipped to offer hands on practical help, advice and support in specific business areas that will help make a difference to business success. Tally Xcelerators go through a series of induction and training from us and other master mentors to equip themselves and customize their offering to our partners and SMEs. Specific induction modules have been designed to provide relevant training to TX Owner, Lead Consultant, Coach/Trainer, Business Consultant etc. TXs have a platform to learn from their peer groups too.
DT: How do you create awareness among companies to leverage such opportunity?
Mr. Joyce: We are launching each of the TX partners in their respective markets and communicating the list of advisory services that they offer, making it easier for a business to get in touch with the partner. Tally Xcelerators have begun mentoring and coaching partners and designing programs to facilitate easy access to finance. Businesses engaging with TX partners have started reaping the benefits and the response to the initiative has been positive. Going forward,we are confident that increasing number of businesses would like to take advantage of the services that our industry experts are offering.Currently there are 25 TX partners across Pan-India, who are dedicated to carrying forward the vision of the program to all regions. In addition to assisting them in accessing business development services and facilitating their access to finance, the program also allows for networking opportunities, connecting entrepreneurs.
