As a husband is getting ready, styling his hair, he hears his wife say "Aha!" from across the room. Flattered, he adjusts his hair again. Another "Aha!" He walks over, only to discover she's ironing clothes and singing along to the chorus of the song playing on her phone. In another film, a roommate scrubs dishes with furious, breathless energy. A second roommate walks in to find the sink overflowing with lather and their roommate lost in the rhythm, driven by music - but every utensil they wash emerges spotless. These are scenes from “Roz ke kaam fun banao, Spotify Chalao”, Spotify's new campaign built on a simple idea: music doesn’t just elevate life’s big moments, it transforms the everyday ones, too.

The campaign rolls out as a series of eight films across five languages - Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Bhojpuri. Each film brings this idea to life in a different household setting - ironing clothes, washing dishes, fixing a lightbulb - where someone doing an everyday chore is visibly, joyfully transformed by music. To the onlooker, it’s confusing, but to the person lost in the song, the chore is no longer simply a chore.

The campaign’s premise resonates with how listeners already experience Spotify. According to research, 97% of Indian users say Spotify makes mundane activities more enjoyable and makes everyday life better, 98% say Spotify is essential to their daily routine, and 71% say they feel relaxed when using the platform. These findings reflect how music isn’t just background noise, but is actively changing how listeners experience their day.

Shipra Srivastava, Head of Marketing, Spotify India, says, “There's something universal about how music changes the texture of a moment. It doesn't matter what language you speak or what chore you're doing, when the right song comes on, the task feels different. Cleaning the home, ironing clothes, washing utensils, fixing a light bulb - for millions of listeners, these are already music moments. Our research backs this up - 98% of Indian users say Spotify is essential to their daily routine. This campaign is about that everyday relationship with music, and the joy it quietly adds to the routines we don't think twice about.”

Watch the films:

  • Ironing Made Fun

  • Dishwashing Made Fun

  • Mopping Made Fun

This everyday role is powered by a thriving and increasingly diverse music ecosystem. Spotify's latest Loud & Clear report shows that listeners streamed Indian artists nearly 335 billion times on the platform in 2025, totaling over 20 billion hours of music. And this listening is spreading across languages: royalties for Telugu artists grew over 120% year over year, while Malayalam rose over 30% and Tamil 20%, among other languages.

Rolling out over five weeks across TV, digital, and social, the campaign captures what millions of listeners already know: the right song has always been what turns an ordinary day into a good one.
