The Uttar Pradesh government has entered into a landmark ₹25,000 crore agreement with Puch AI to accelerate the development of artificial intelligence infrastructure across the state. The partnership aims to position Uttar Pradesh as a leading technology and innovation hub in India, with large-scale investments planned in AI parks, data centres, and education.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced the development on X, highlighting the state’s commitment to embracing emerging technologies. He stated, “New Uttar Pradesh is embracing the power of Artificial Intelligence. A ₹25,000 Crore MoU with Puch AI will bring AI Parks, large-scale data center infrastructure, AI Commons, and an AI University to the state. This initiative will strengthen governance, drive innovation, and create future-ready opportunities for our youth.”

The agreement includes the establishment of dedicated AI parks designed to support startups and enterprises, alongside the development of high-capacity data centre infrastructure to meet the growing demand for data processing and storage. Additionally, an AI Commons framework will be created to enable AI-driven applications for governance and public services, making technology more accessible to citizens.

A key component of the initiative is the proposed AI University, which will focus on building a skilled workforce by offering specialized training programs for students and working professionals. This is expected to address the growing demand for AI talent in India and support the state’s long-term digital ambitions.

Puch AI, founded in 2025 by Siddharth Bhatia and Arjit Jain, is a Bengaluru-based startup focused on democratizing access to artificial intelligence. The platform operates primarily through WhatsApp and voice-based interfaces, offering services such as chat assistance, image and video generation, and fact-checking. Its emphasis on regional language accessibility aims to make AI tools usable for individuals with limited technical expertise.

Sharing his perspective on the development, Siddharth Bhatia, Co-Founder and CEO of Puch AI, stated, “UP Government and Puch AI have signed a ₹25,000 crore MoU to make Uttar Pradesh India’s first AI Pradesh. The partnership will establish AI Parks powered by large-scale data center infrastructure to make businesses AI-enabled, AI Commons for citizen and governance applications, and an AI University to upskill both students and working professionals.”

The initiative aligns with Uttar Pradesh’s broader push into the technology sector, including a separate $25 billion data centre investment plan. With India’s AI market projected to reach $131 billion by 2032, the state is aiming to capture a significant share of this growth while creating new avenues for innovation, employment, and digital governance.
