BPL Medical Technologies is strengthening its position in India’s medical technology sector with a range of disruptive ‘Made in India’ products and digital health solutions. The company proudly marks 12 years of pioneering innovation, reinforcing its commitment to delivering homegrown solutions that shape the future of healthcare.

The company has built a strong presence across the country through advanced manufacturing, a wide product portfolio, and a deep focus on accessible, technology-driven healthcare for both urban and rural markets.

Once a household name, BPL made history by developing India’s first in-house ECG machine in 1967. Over the decades, BPL steadily expanded its footprint in the healthcare space, introducing a wide range of medical devices that became trusted solutions across hospitals and clinics in India.

In 2013, building on this strong foundation, BPL Medical Technologies was established as a dedicated health entity to focus exclusively on the growing medical technology sector to meet the evolving healthcare needs of the world. Over the past decade, the company has evolved into a trusted healthcare technology partner, delivering innovations that reflect both India’s clinical needs and global quality benchmarks.

A one-stop solution for healthcare providers, BPL Medical Technologies delivers a wide range of solutions across six key segments, including cardiology, critical care & surgery, women & child care, imaging, homecare, consumers, and accessories. With a strong emphasis on research and development, BPL Medical Technologies has been at the forefront of technological advancements in the medical field.

To meet the rising demand, the company has recently opened its new manufacturing facility in Bangalore, India, inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi with a vision to produce Made in India products for the world. Along with its existing unit in Palakkad, both facilities are ISO 13485:2016-certified, enabling BPL to deliver products that meet stringent international quality standards.

Commenting on the same, Dr. Shravan Subramanyam, Managing Director of BPL Medical Technologies, shared, “BPL has been a trusted name in the Indian market for decades, as a pioneer in consumer electronics. That legacy of trust in the quality, innovation, and reliability still motivates the journey of our medical technology division today. BPL Medical Technologies continues that journey with a focus on accessible, high-quality, and digitally integrated products. With strong local manufacturing, a growing innovation pipeline, and deep market reach, we are committed to strengthening India’s medical infrastructure not just through technology, but through solutions that are rooted in our legacy and designed for the future.”

With 14 regional offices and a network of over 500 professionals, BPL Medical Technologies has one of the widest reaches in the Indian Medtech space. The company is now focusing on investing more in research and development, while also expanding its presence in both hospitals and homecare.

As part of this plan, BPL MedTech is working on adding AI features directly into its X-ray machines. This will allow the machines to provide smart diagnosis even in remote areas without internet access, helping more people get the care they need, wherever they are. With these efforts, BPL MedTech aims to make advanced healthcare more accessible, affordable, and truly inclusive.
