Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Nara Chandrababu Naidu laid the foundation stone for Amaravati Quantum Valley (AQV), marking the birth of India's first and largest planned integrated quantum technology ecosystem.

The historic ceremony was graced by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Hon'ble Union Minister of State for Science & Technology, who unveiled the foundation plaque; Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India; Sri Nara Lokesh, Hon'ble Minister for IT, Electronics & Education; along with senior leadership from IBM India, TCS, L&T, and IIT Madras.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief Minister declared: "Andhra Pradesh will not follow — we will lead. When the world needs quantum solutions, they will look to Amaravati. From here, we will make Quantum for the World."

About Amaravati Quantum Valley

Amaravati Quantum Valley is India's first comprehensive quantum ecosystem where quantum computing hardware will be deployed, software is developed, algorithms are optimized, and world-class talent is nurtured — all within a single integrated campus. Pending regulatory approval from the United States government, the initiative plans to host an IBM Quantum System Two, which would make it home to India's most advanced IBM quantum computer that is currently available.

With over 50 organizations involved including IBM, TCS, L&T, CDAC, CDOT and leading quantum startups, AQV is positioned to become one of the world's Top 5 Quantum Hubs.

Major Launches at the Foundation Ceremony

IBM Quantum via TCS Cloud Services: TCS and IBM are collaborating to make IBM quantum computers accessible through the cloud across India. Through the TCS cloud platform, researchers, students, and industry professionals within India can run quantum algorithms on IBM’s quantum computers, which offer access to 100+ qubits and can be used as a scientific research tool.

Amaravati Quantum Valley Quantum Innovation Center: IIT Tirupati and IIT Madras will lead a collaboration of regional institutions who plan to work together to advance quantum applications in areas such as drug discovery, materials science, supply chain optimization, cryptography, and sustainable manufacturing.

Quantum-Safe Security Demonstration: QClairvoyance Quantum Labs showcased India's first live demonstration of post-quantum cryptography solutions for government and enterprise applications, highlighting the nation's readiness for quantum-secure communications.

Quantum Talent Hub: WISER and Vanguard jointly announced the establishment of India's premier quantum workforce development center in Amaravati, building on the remarkable success of the WISER Quantum Programme which has trained over 50,000 students with 51% women participation.

AQV Logo & Hackathon Awards: Unveiled the official Amaravati Quantum Valley brand identity and facilitated winners of the national quantum hackathon, recognizing India's brightest young quantum innovators.

National Strategic Significance

Amaravati Quantum Valley is strategically aligned with India's ₹6,000 crore National Quantum Mission. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Jitendra Singh stated: "The Department of Science & Technology stands firmly with Andhra Pradesh. AQV represents the bold, integrated approach India needs to become a global quantum superpower. This is national partnership for Viksit Bharat 2047."

Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser, emphasized: "AQV will serve as a national anchor for quantum technology development. We are committed to making Amaravati one of the world's Top 5 quantum hubs, contributing directly to India's quantum computing, communications, and sensing capabilities."

Industry  Involvement

Sandip Patel, Managing Director, IBM India and South Asia, said: "IBM is looking forward to the prospect of bringing  advanced quantum computing technology to Amaravati to provide Indian researchers, academia, and enterprises to access world-class quantum computing capabilities as they drive breakthroughs in applications for quantum computers across industries. ."

TCS as a founding partner with Amravati Quantum Valley, is contributing its research expertise and industry leadership to accelerate real-world applications of quantum technologies while fostering talent, innovation, and collaborative partnerships. “The groundbreaking of Amravati Quantum Valley marks a defining moment in India’s journey towards becoming a global hub for next-generating technologies. Quantum has the potential to reshape industries, and open new frontiers of innovation. TCS is committed to advancing this vision by bringing its research leadership, talent, and ecosystem partnerships with COIN™. Through our cloud services and innovation center, we are democratizing access to quantum computing for the entire nation.” said, Dr Harrick Vin Chief Technology Officer, TCS

Ecosystem Already Operational

Demonstrating the pace of execution, 600 plug-and-play seats at Medha Towers IT Park are already operational with quantum companies and startups commencing work. Following the foundation ceremony, the Chief Minister interacted with quantum companies at Medha Towers, reviewing ongoing projects and encouraging the growing ecosystem.
