Revenant Esports to Represent India at Pokémon UNITE Asia Champions League in Malaysia

Revenant Esports is set to represent India at the Pokémon UNITE Asia Champions League in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The team qualified for the event against all odds after a terrible start to the India Qualifier, but completely turned their fortunes around after staging a comeback to becoming the champions of India.

Now, Revenant Esports has released episode one of ‘Off the Record,’ offering a look into the mentality of the players and how they managed to win the tournament. You can watch the documentary on Revenant Esports’ official YouTube channel. It also offers fans a first-hand view of some moments from the tournament as narrated by the players’ themselves.

The Pokémon UNITE Asia Champions League India Qualifier happened across the Group Stage and a Playoffs stage. It featured a prize pool of $8,500 but, more importantly, had two slots to the Finals in Malaysia up for grabs.

The team defeated Gods Reign, True Rippers, S8UL, and eventually Marcos Gaming to become the champions of India again.

“The India Qualifiers of the Pokémon UNITE Asia Champions League were a roller coaster ride for the team,” said team captain Crowley. “We managed to break our curse of being number two and also staged a dream comeback. All our focus has now shifted to the Finals in Malaysia and we hope to bring the trophy home for India.”
