Amazon is geared up to change the horizon of the quick commerce market with the launch of its fast service, Tez, in India. In the initial phase, the e-commerce firm will focus on groceries and daily essentials. The testing is being done in Bengaluru with staff where Cocoblu Retail plays a pivotal role. With this move, Amazon has positioned itself against its competitors such as BigBasket, Flipkart Minutes, Blinkit, and other players in the fast delivery business.

According to a report by Gadgets Now by Times of India, Amazon’s leading seller, Cocoblu Retail, has launched a new entity to bolster its quick commerce initiatives and enable the rapid delivery service, Tez. A recent filing with the Registrar of Companies (RoC) reveals that Cocoblu Retail’s parent company, RattanIndia, has renamed one of its existing entities and shifted its operational focus from wholesale to retail.

This strategic move aligns with Amazon's efforts to strengthen its presence in the fast-growing quick commerce sector, where it competes with established players like Flipkart, BigBasket, Zepto, and Swiggy Instamart.

Cocoblu Retail is a significant partner for Amazon, contributing extensively to the e-commerce giant’s operations and success. The company is expected to play a pivotal role in the development and execution of Tez by leveraging its robust network, established partnerships, and high sales volumes on the Amazon platform.

With this new entity, Cocoblu aims to support Tez in delivering essential items such as groceries and daily necessities quickly and efficiently, catering to the rising demand for convenience in online shopping.

Amazon’s entry into quick commerce with the launch of Tez service comes at a time when rivals like Flipkart Minutes, BigBasket, Blinkit, Zepto, and Swiggy Instamart are aggressively growing their market share. Tez is expected to launch with a focus on delivering groceries and everyday essentials, catering to the increasing demand for quick delivery.

The service may also feature products from leading consumer brands offered through Cocoblu Retail, Amazon's largest seller, as per the report. This move highlights Amazon’s commitment to staying competitive in the fast-paced quick commerce segment, leveraging its extensive supply chain capabilities to meet the evolving needs of consumers seeking convenience and speed to fulfil their everyday needs.

RattanIndia, the parent company of Cocoblu Retail, oversees consumer brands that sell their products on Amazon through Cocoblu Retail. These brands are likely to be featured in Amazon’s upcoming quick delivery service, Tez. Initially, the service is expected to launch with a limited product range, primarily focusing on groceries and daily essentials to meet consumer demand.

In addition to Cocoblu Retail, leading sellers on Amazon India include Clicktech Retail, RK World Infocom, RetailEZ, and EtradeOnline. Notably, Clicktech Retail acquired Appario Retail following Amazon’s strategic decision to divest its stakes in prominent sellers on its platform.
