Amarendra Saxena, one of Flipkart’s long-serving senior executives, has officially moved on from the company after completing an impactful decade-long journey. Serving most recently as Director and Business Head – IoT Devices, Saxena’s departure marks the end of a remarkable tenure defined by category innovation, customer-centric programs, and cross-functional leadership within one of India’s foremost digital commerce firms.
Saxena joined Flipkart in 2015 as a management trainee and steadily rose through the organization, earning recognition for his agility in business development, strategic planning, and digital category growth. Over the years, he held pivotal roles in core segments such as Mobiles, Events and Promotions, and Customer Loyalty, before taking charge of the company’s fast-growing Internet of Things (IoT) devices business.
Reflecting on his departure, Saxena took to LinkedIn to share a heartfelt note that captured the spirit of his decade at Flipkart. “After nearly a decade, it’s time to say goodbye to Flipkart — a place that’s been so much more than just work,” he wrote.
His ability to scale emerging verticals, drive customer retention strategies, and deliver business outcomes in a dynamic marketplace made him a trusted leader within Flipkart’s evolving leadership ecosystem.
His resignation comes amid a larger wave of senior-level transitions at Flipkart as the company accelerates its internal restructuring ahead of a planned IPO. In recent months, several key executives including Ankit Jain, Prajakta Kanaglekar, Anurag Singhvi, and Ganesh Ramaswamy also stepped down amid cost optimization and IPO preparation efforts.
While Saxena has not yet revealed details about his next professional move, his sign-off hinted at new opportunities on the horizon: “As I move on to a new chapter (more on that soon!), I carry with me a piece of Flipkart — and as the song goes, ‘You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.’”
Although Saxena has not publicly disclosed his future plans, industry experts anticipate his next move will involve a leadership position within the technology or digital commerce space.
