Casio Computer Co. announces the expansion of its PRO TREK lineup in India with the launch of the new PRJ-B001 and PRG-340 Series. Designed for outdoor enthusiasts, the latest additions combine practical adventure-focused features with solar-powered technology and advanced functionality. The lineup also incorporates bio-based materials, while the PRJ-B001 Series features smartphone connectivity, offering a versatile blend of performance, technology and outdoor-ready design.
PRJ-B001 Series: Lightweight functionality for the outdoors and beyond
The PRJ-B001 Series combines a lightweight construction with a distinctive rotary guard bezel that offers two distinct styles. In its button-covering position, the bezel helps prevent accidental button presses during everyday wear. A 45-degree rotation reveals the buttons, providing easier access to key functions during outdoor activities.
Weighing approximately 44 grams, the watch features a bio-based resin case, bezel and band, along with Tough Solar technology and Bluetooth connectivity. When paired with the CASIO WATCHES app, users can access functions including automatic time adjustment, easy watch settings, world time for approximately 300 cities, Phone Finder and the Time & Place function, which records the date, time and position on a map within the app.
Designed for extended wear, the compact construction allows the wrist to move and bend smoothly. An inset dial at the 9 o'clock position features an indicator hand modelled after a carabiner, adding an outdoor-inspired detail to the design.
The PRJ-B001B Series features the same core platform with a bungee-cord cloth band inspired by outdoor gear. Combining a cloth band with a bungee cord, the design offers a breathable and comfortable fit, while its stretchable construction makes the watch easy to put on and take off, including when worn over heavier outerwear.
The PRJ-B001-1, PRJ-B001-5, PRJ-B001B-1 and PRJ-B001B-2 are priced at INR 13,995 each.
PRG-340 Series: Advanced sensing for changing outdoor conditions
The PRG-340 Series is equipped with Triple Sensor technology, providing real-time readings of direction, altitude, barometric pressure and temperature. The combination of these functions makes the series suited to hiking, trekking, climbing and other outdoor activities.
A duplex LCD enhances compass readability by displaying compass graphics on the upper layer, while the lower layer presents the time and other measurements. The rotating bezel can be used to retain compass readings while navigating, helping users keep track of their orientation.
Designed for practical use in the field, the watch features dedicated direct-access buttons for direction, air pressure and temperature, and altitude measurements. The oversized buttons have a nonslip finish for operation while wearing gloves, while the movable lug construction allows the case and band to be laid flat for convenient use alongside paper maps.
Power comes from Tough Solar technology, while 100-meter water resistance and low-temperature resistance down to -10°C support use in demanding conditions. Additional features include World Time across 48 cities and a full-auto LED backlight with Super Illuminator.
The PRG-340-1 and PRG-340-3 use bio-based plastics for key components including the case, case back and soft urethane band. Made using renewable organic resources such as castor oil plants and corn, these materials reduce reliance on conventional plastics while retaining the durability required for outdoor use. The PRG-340T-7 pairs the same outdoor functionality with a titanium band.
The PRG-340 Series is available in three variants: PRG-340-1, PRG-340-3 and PRG-340T-7. The PRG-340-1 and PRG-340-3 are priced at INR 17,995 each, while the PRG-340T-7 is priced at INR 28,995.
