Amazon announced the launch of its Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio smart speakers with Alexa in India, built to offer premium audio experiences. Echo Dot Max delivers nearly 3x the bass of Echo Dot (5th Gen), and Echo Studio offers spatial audio with Dolby Atmos. Both devices are powered by Amazon’s AZ3 custom silicon chips for fast performance, and feature Omnisense technology which enables automated smart home routines using presence, motion, and temperature detection.
Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio come with Alexa built in, making it easy for customers to play music, manage Alexa-compatible smart home appliances, and handle everyday tasks like setting timers/alarms, checking the weather, or making shopping lists—all with just their voice.

Echo Dot Max is Amazon’s best Echo Dot yet. It features nearly 3x bass compared to Echo Dot (5th Gen) with room-filling sound that automatically adapts to any space. Echo Dot Max features a sophisticated two-way speaker system with a high-excursion woofer optimised for deep bass and a custom tweeter for crisp high notes. The redesigned audio architecture provides double the air space compared to the previous generation Echo Dot, improving the performance and efficiency of bass generation.

Customers can pair and control Alexa-compatible smart home appliances, such as lights, ACs, fans, and plugs using these new devices. They also feature Omnisense, Amazon's custom sensor platform designed for ambient AI. It uses a combination of sensors and signals, including audio, ultrasound, WiFi radar, and accelerometer, to deliver personalised, proactive, and helpful Alexa experiences—especially useful for smart home automation.
Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio come with built-in smart home hubs, supporting multiple connectivity protocols (Wi-Fi, Zigbee, Thread, Matter, Bluetooth) for simple set up. Echo Dot Max is also the first in the Echo Dot line-up to come with a smart home hub.

These new Echo smart speakers feature custom designed silicon chips enabling fast performance—AZ3 for Echo Dot Max and the more advanced AZ3 Pro for Echo Studio. On both devices, AZ3 helps improve Alexa’s ability to detect the wake-word by nearly 50% and enables better conversation detection.
