Theobroma Foods Private Limited has appointed Anand Tomar as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO), adding an experienced technology leader to its senior management team as the food and bakery brand continues to expand its operations in India.
With his appointment, Tomar joins Theobroma’s leadership team at a time when technology is becoming increasingly important to supporting business growth, operational efficiency and customer engagement. His experience across food, retail and consumer-focused businesses adds relevant industry expertise to the role.
Anand Tomar Brings 20 Years of Technology Experience
Anand brings around two decades of experience across the food, retail, manufacturing and financial services sectors. His career has included technology leadership roles at organisations such as McDonald’s India, Allied Blenders & Distillers, Marico, Trent and HDFC Bank.
Before joining Theobroma, Anand served as Chief Information Officer at Allied Blenders & Distillers, where he joined in 2025. During his tenure, his responsibilities covered technology strategy, digital transformation, IT infrastructure and cybersecurity.
Prior to Allied Blenders & Distillers, Anand was Head of IT at McDonald’s India. His experience at the quick-service restaurant major included managing technology initiatives within a large-scale, consumer-facing retail environment.
Focus on Technology and Digital Transformation
Anand’s experience spans enterprise technology, infrastructure, cybersecurity, digital transformation and technology strategy. His background across consumer businesses and large operating environments brings a combination of technology and business transformation experience to his new mandate at Theobroma.
At Theobroma, his role is expected to focus on strengthening the company’s technology foundation as its retail and customer operations continue to scale. Technology is increasingly becoming an important part of food and retail businesses, supporting areas such as enterprise systems, customer engagement, operations, data and cybersecurity.

Anand holds an MBA in IT from the Symbiosis Centre for Information Technology, Pune. His appointment adds a dedicated senior technology leadership role to Theobroma’s management team at a time when the company is expanding its retail presence and strengthening its operational capabilities.
With experience spanning technology strategy and transformation across multiple consumer-facing industries, Tomar brings a broad technology leadership background to Theobroma as the company continues its growth journey.
