In a notable development to strengthen security and compliance at Adani Power, Rohit Sharma has been elevated as Head of Cyber Security & Chief Risk Officer.
In this role, he will be spearheading the largest private sector power generation utility of India, while also spearheading the initiatives for establishing the Cybersecurity Experience Center for the company. Before his elevation as Head of Cyber Security & Chief Risk Officer at Adani Power Ltd., he was serving as Head of Cyber Security, where he established and managed the Cyber Security program for the largest private sector power transmission utility in India.
In this capacity, he also handled Budget Management, Information Security Management Systems (ISMS), Security Policy, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Vulnerability Assessment, Critical Infrastructure Protection, Cyber crisis management plan, ISO 27001 Lead Auditing, and Security Control. This makes him well-positioned for this role.
Previously, in a notable 19-year tenure at NTPC Limited, he started as an Engineer and explored the heights of his professional journey through timely elevation to his role, making him the cornerstone of Cybersecurity Operations at the organisation.
From being an Engineer to reaching the Deputy General Manager position, he became the cornerstone of Cybersecurity and Compliance at NTPC. He spearheaded the Cyber Security Operations Center, taking care of Cybersecurity Operations, Critical Information Infrastructure (CII) Protection, ISO-27001 Lead Auditor Cyber Crisis Management Plan, Information Security Management System, and other critical parameters of the Cybersecurity landscape.
Being a technologically efficient professional, Rohit Sharma pursued a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics from Bundelkhand Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jhansi. He is also certified in ISO 27001 Lead Auditor – Information Security Certification from BSI Training Academy.
For the added acumen to his professional proficiency, he earned skill sets in Security Policy, Security Controls, Budget Management, RSA SecurID Access, Information Security Management System (ISMS), Security Operations Center, Checkpoint Security, Cisco ASA, McAfee SIEM, Cyber Crisis Management Plan, SCADA Security, and others.
