

PayU has announced the appointment of Pramod Rao as its new Chief Risk Officer (CRO).
Pramod brings over 27 years of experience in the Banking, Financial Services, and Telecom sectors, with a proven track record in Risk Management, Investigations, Transaction Monitoring, Compliance, Business Continuity Management and Security. Over the years, he has held leadership roles with Axis Bank, Vodafone Idea Ltd, Citi Bank, IDBI Bank, ICICI Bank and HSBC.
At PayU, Pramod will be responsible for shaping and overseeing risk management strategies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and strengthening the organization’s financial and operational risk framework. His deep expertise in enterprise fraud risk management and compliance will be instrumental in further fortifying PayU’s commitment to secure and seamless financial transactions.

Pramod is an alumnus of the University of Mumbai, holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM) and has specialized certifications in Cyber Law and Forensic Accounting & Fraud Examination. He also underwent Executive Leadership programs at IIM Ahmedabad, and Kellogg School of Management.
As part of its ongoing efforts to expand its leadership team, PayU has been strategically expanding across key functions over the last 6-8 months. Some key appointments in PayU payments include Pranav Pandya as Chief Compliance Officer, Dimple Mehta as Company Secretary, and Rahul Bharadwaj as Head of Operations. PayU has also appointed Ashok Patil, Chief Risk officer for its credit business. These new appointments highlight PayU’s continued focus on strengthening its leadership capabilities, reinforcing its commitment to creating a secure, transparent, and regulatory-compliant digital payments ecosystem.
