Daimler Truck AG has announced the appointment of Raghavendra Vaidya as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO), effective June 1, 2025. Vaidya will succeed Marcus Claesson, who is stepping down after a notable tenure that included establishing Daimler Truck’s independent IT infrastructure following its spin-off from Daimler AG and leading the company to surpass one million connected vehicles globally.
Currently serving as Managing Director and CEO of Daimler Truck Innovation Center India (DTICI), Vaidya has been instrumental in integrating DTICI into Daimler Truck’s global operations, particularly in central functions, engineering, and IT. His leadership has been pivotal in transforming DTICI into a critical pillar supporting the company's digital initiatives.
Vaidya's career spans over two decades in the IT sector, including leadership roles at Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India and General Electric. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from R.V. College of Engineering, Bangalore, and a Master of Technology in Software Systems from BITS Pilani.
In his new role, Vaidya will oversee Daimler Truck’s global IT operations and spearhead its digital transformation strategy, focusing on areas such as connected vehicles, cloud infrastructure, and intelligent operations. His appointment marks a significant step in Daimler Truck's commitment to advancing its technological capabilities and enhancing operational efficiency.
The company has stated that the succession plan for Vaidya's current role at DTICI will be announced in due course.
