Viral Davda has taken on the role of Deputy Chief Information Officer at the Bombay Stock Exchange. This strategic appointment highlights the BSE’s commitment to strengthening its technology infrastructure and driving innovation in capital market services. BSE is Asia’s oldest stock exchange and one of the world’s fastest trading platforms, known for its robust infrastructure, cutting-edge technology, and pivotal role in shaping India’s capital markets.

Viral Davda brings with him over two decades of rich experience in technology leadership within the capital markets ecosystem. Known for his expertise in digital transformation, enterprise system modernization, and leveraging IT to align business strategy, Viral’s leadership is set to play a pivotal role in the BSE’s digital transformation phase.
Prior to joining BSE, Viral served as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange for more than 16 years. At NCDEX, he led numerous large-scale transformation initiatives, which include revolutionising trading platforms, heading the innovation group, and implementing forward-looking IT strategies, keeping pace with the evolving needs of the financial markets. His contributions were instrumental in elevating the exchange’s digital capabilities and reinforcing its position in the commodity trading landscape.
His professional journey started with Aditya Birla Minacs as a Senior Executive of Information Systems, where he learnt the basics of Business Requirement Analysis, System Requirements Documents, Wireframes and Prototypes, and more. Later, he worked with Agilisys and Datamatics, where he took leadership positions as a Project Manager and Lead Consultant of Business Analysis.
Viral has a sound educational background with a B. Com from the University of Mumbai, a Diploma in Strategic Leadership from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, a Global CIO Certification in Information Technology from the Indian School of Business, and a Post Graduation Diploma in Management in Information Technology. Additionally, he is certified in White Belt from Uptime Institute.
At BSE, Viral will be tasked with enhancing the exchange’s core technology frameworks, ensuring operational resilience, and driving innovation across its trading, clearing, and settlement infrastructure. He will work to align technology strategies with the exchange’s broader business goals, while focusing on strengthening cybersecurity frameworks, fostering data-driven decision-making, and ensuring the scalability and robustness of critical market systems.
