Bajaj Life Insurance has appointed Sammeer Kulkarni as its Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), reinforcing its cybersecurity leadership as the company continues to enhance information security, cyber resilience, and governance across its digital insurance ecosystem.
In his new role, Kulkarni will lead Bajaj Life Insurance's enterprise cybersecurity strategy, information security governance, cyber risk management, security operations, and regulatory compliance. He will also oversee initiatives focused on protecting customer data, strengthening digital trust, securing enterprise applications, and enhancing the organization's overall cyber resilience.
His responsibilities are expected to include driving security frameworks, implementing best practices for risk management, and supporting the secure growth of the company's digital platforms and technology infrastructure.
Kulkarni announced his appointment through a LinkedIn post, where he shared that he has joined Bajaj Life Insurance as the company's Chief Information Security Officer. His appointment comes as the insurer continues to strengthen its technology and security capabilities to support secure digital services and safeguard critical business operations.
Brings extensive experience across the BFSI sector
Kulkarni joins Bajaj Life Insurance with extensive experience in cybersecurity, information security, governance, risk management, and technology security across banking, insurance, and financial services.
Before joining Bajaj Life Insurance, he served as Chief Information Security Officer at Zurich Kotak General Insurance. He had earlier joined Kotak Mahindra General Insurance as CISO before the company became part of Zurich Insurance Group following Zurich's acquisition of a majority stake in the insurer.
Prior to that, he was Vice President – Information Security at BNP Paribas. Over the course of his career, he has also held cybersecurity leadership roles at IndusInd Bank, IndiaFirst Life Insurance, Polaris Software, Bharti AXA Life Insurance, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, Centurion Bank of Punjab, IL&FS, and SMC System Integrators.
His diverse experience spans enterprise security, cyber governance, security operations, IT risk management, regulatory compliance, and the protection of mission-critical technology environments.
