Ageas Federal Life Insurance has appointed Sunil Nishankar as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Data Protection Officer (DPO). Nishankar announced the development through a LinkedIn post, confirming that he has started a new position with the insurance company.
In his new role, Nishankar will oversee the company’s information security and data protection functions, covering two critical areas for organisations that manage sensitive customer information and financial records. The combined mandate places cybersecurity and privacy responsibilities within a unified leadership function.
Dual Leadership Role Covers Security and Data Protection
As CISO, Nishankar will lead the organisation’s information security function, with responsibilities centred on protecting digital systems and information assets. The role also involves addressing cybersecurity risks and supporting the company’s broader security requirements.
Alongside this, his responsibility as DPO will focus on data protection and privacy requirements, including the appropriate governance of personal and sensitive information.
