Through this case study, Hoonartek will illustrate how it helped a major Indonesian telecom company overcome the restrictions imposed by its own data platform by shifting it to Snowflake, which is hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS). The client is a major telecom services provider in Indonesia with more than 58.5 million subscribers. It offers both 4G and 5G coverage, covering over 96% of the population. The company has set itself the target of being the largest Converged Operator in Indonesia in order to simplify and enhance digital experiences for its customers. It has also earned industry recognition by being named the “Best Mobile Network Operator” and “Outstanding Customer Service,” as a further commitment towards network excellence and customer satisfaction.

With this brief in hand, Hoonartek commenced the “Analytics Data Platform Modernization Project” to migrate the client’s data platform from on-premise to a cloud-hosted environment - AWS with Snowflake – which enabled it to tap into the platform’s cloud and analytics features.

The client, partnering with Hoonartek for its expertise in data migration and modernisation, undertook a thorough assessment of its own prevalent infrastructure, data landscape and business needs in order to devise a joint solution discovery process focused on:
