 “We Want to Increase Our Partner Base to 6, 500 by Year End”

India has a large and vast market across various territories and there is a good scope for all the vendors and their partners to attain excellent growth. Gaming market has also grown well in last one year in India. All leading brands are eying the huge opportunities this market has in years to come. Acer, a leading Laptop brand has also launched best gaming laptop recently. The company in recent time has also augmented their partner base and increased their retail presence by opening exclusive Acer stores across India. Mr. Chandrahas Panigrahi, CMO and Consumer Business Head, Acer shares his opinion with DT about their market strategies, plans & their ambitions with Indian market.

DT: How do you see the launch of Acer Nitro 5 laptop for Indian gamers?

Mr. Chandrahas: Gaming is about to take off in India and Acer has got a complete product range for casual gamers, hard-core gamers or serious gamers. We recently launched Acer Nitro 5 in India, the device is an unmatched combination of price and features. We thoroughly believe that every aspiring gamer deserves a great gaming device which lets them play advanced games while still be a great choice to do day-to-day tasks, hence, that’s where we thought to introduce Nitro 5 which is incredibly powerful with an unbeatable price.

DT: How you are positioning these products to the channel partners?

Mr. Chandrahas: All our Nitro models are available with Acer norms and at selected partners who have an interest. The product has gained very much attention from our key partners who cater to gamers and tech enthusiasts. We are very much sure about the success of this product as it delivers an astounding, affordable and portable gaming experience.

DT: What are your plans for OND quarter?

Mr. Chandrahas: Acer has great offerings currently for Indian market. We have positioned our products for each segment very well. With so vast and excellent product range, we are very much hopeful to have tremendous response this quarter.

DT: What is the number of your channel partners? Do you want to add more partners?

Mr. Chandrahas: By end of this year we want to increase our partner base to 6, 500. We have a team to focus on it. We are working towards making more and more Acer malls, investing with multi-brand partners. We are creating a whole lot of experience in stores with our partners.

DT: What are your plans for better service support?

Mr. Chandrahas: If you look at our service canters, we are giving some special services. For example, Acer mall, we have service connect for our customers who buy from Acer malls. We have a huge and wide service network and various programs we have done just to make sure that whenever there is customer escalations, we are able to attend faster and give them better service.

DT: What all investments you are doing for branding?

Mr. Chandrahas: We are upgrading our infrastructure in service, investing in people, investing in building and partners.

DT: What is your vision for next 6 months?  Where do you want to see Acer?

Mr. Chandrahas: Acer we would like to see in next 6 months among the top 3 brands of choice in consumers mind and we are moving very closely towards that. Partners are seeing lot more positivity towards Acer. We are building a very strong partner team in all geography and we are also enhancing our relationship with partners.
