“We Offer Distribution Platform Which Enables A Hotel to Seamlessly Manage Their Inventory”

The technology is evolving so fast and there are many innovative solutions available in the market that ease the work and increase the efficiency more than ever. The hotel sector is one of the sectors which has been creating more demand of some solutions that manages the overall operations, AxisRooms is a provider of strong solutions to help this sector. In a recent interaction with DT, Mr. Ravi Taneja, Co-Founder & COO of AxisRooms spoke about their overall structure, solution offerings and future plans to dominate the market. Read below the excerpts:

DT: What was the core idea while establishing AxisRooms?

Mr. Ravi: Intent was to make inventory distribution and price management automated for hotels which has been the most critical pain point for them.

DT: Please brief about the technology solutions you provide to your clients?

Mr. Ravi: We offer distribution platform which enables a hotel to seamlessly manage their inventory as well as maintain price parity across multiple online channels like MakeMyTrip, Booking.com, Airbnb, and Expedia etc. We have also built an AI backed platform for hotels to dynamically manage their room prices and earn more yields while selling every room.

DT: How do you plan to sell these solutions in Indian market?

Mr. Ravi: We have feet on street as well as strong inside sales team to look at web leads generated through the website or social platforms.

DT: What are your plans to expand your solutions offering? What are your future plans?

Mr. Ravi: We are working on building platforms for alternative accommodation segment like BnB, Home stays, and Guest houses. They have very low internet penetration in their markets and we would like to offer them light app based platforms which will let them unify their distribution "on the go"

DT: How do you channelize your business across Indian subcontinent?

Mr. Ravi: We have a strong brand identity amongst large to small hoteliers today. We are currently present in 300+ cities across India and word of mouth, referrals has been our key. We would continue to go deeper into hotel segment and help even a smaller to smaller hotelier based in even tier 2 or tier 3 cities to expand their channel distribution. We are planning to do 6 road shows in tier 2 cities in the next calendar year.

DT: What is your current client base? Please name some of them.

Mr. Ravi: We work with over 3000 hotels in India and close to 350 hotels internationally. Some of the clients include OYO rooms, Treebo Hotels, Sterling hotels and resorts, Keys group of hotels.

DT: What is your current revenue? What will be your target by end of this year? How you will make sure to achieve set target?

Mr. Ravi: We are on an annualized run rate of USD 1.2 Mn and expecting to close the year at USD 2Mn annualized run rate.
