“We Believe That Our Channel Partnership Should Be More Profitable In Business”

John Dong, Director, Tenda India in a conversation with DT reveals his upcoming product and channel plans.

DT: How has been the year 2018 so far for you?

Mr. John: We have experienced tremendous shifts in IT Market in year 2018, from start of 2018 starting slow to picking up pace in mid-years to again demand getting stable. 2018 has been a good year for Tenda's latest technology nova mesh launch in India. Tenda nova MW3 received a positive acceptance from end-users and AC5 and AC10 were hot selling products from Tenda. With growth in Smart home products, Mesh unit has been getting scenarios to show out their true mesh power. 

DT: Please brief about your channel ecosystem in India. How are you currently working with your partners to strengthen your market position?

Mr. John: To provide our partners with in-demand products so that they can meet customers requirement, Tenda is now launching 1-2 new products per month so that our channel partners don’t have any customer unsatisfied, brining arrays of suitable and market demand products will give our Partners an upper hand in offering best product kit to the respective customer.

Tenda as a brand believes in providing our channel partners with best, be it product or support they required. Whichever product we Introduce in India we are making sure we promote it on a good scale so that it’s easier for our partners to sell the product further. Schemes and offers are always considered from time to time so that we keep market active and give our partners something extra than regular. We are having very strong channel base in India. We believe that our channel partnership should be more profitable in business and they should have an overall good growth into that particular segment. We take care of partner’s profitability and margins and thus we maintain the MOP and make sure our partners earn a higher margin compare to what they earn with our competitors. We provide all kind of support to them. We are focused on adding more manpower and align our product, price and all the strategies in place for smooth execution of our set goal.

DT: What is your overall roadmap to escalate your growth further in CY 2019? On what products you will be focusing in 2019?

Mr. John: Demand for All time active connectivity will lead to increase in deployment of wireless internet connectivity which will be met by deploying different methods like City/Village Wifi or 5G connectivity. According to IDC Router market in India witnessing a upward growth as more people are joining and using internet, that’s good news for future of networking market in India.

As Customers are advancing, usage of smart devices is witnessing rapid growth. Today an average household has 4 smartphones, 2 laptops, 1 desktop, possibly 1 smart TV, All these smart devices need a sustainable and powerful device to stay connected to each other.

Since the Broadband penetration is growing on exceptional level month-on-month in India, respectively the networking devices demand has increased to support the requirement. Digitalisation as well as new startups emerging in India with the need of staying connected online all the time has lead positive growth for Networking Industry.
