Rooter to Launch Its Mobile App in Several Indian and International Languages!

Rooter has announced its plans to launch its mobile app in several Indian and international languages. The platform will soon launch its mobile app in regional Indian languages such as Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu, in addition to international languages such as German and Italian.

The latest development underlines Rooter’s long-term vision to emerge as the preferred medium of live sports engagement across the globe and follows close on the heels of the launch of the Rooter app in Hindi and Arabic, in addition to English. With the move, Rooter aims to significantly expand its user base by engaging more sports fans with its unique social offerings – in their native language.

Speaking on the decision to launch the app in local languages, Akshat Goel, Co-Founder and CTO - Rooter, said, “Rooter has registered a highly encouraging response from sports fans around the world, who appreciate the novelty that its live, community-based sports engagement delivers. We are currently engaging over two million sports fans globally through the Rooter app, but this is just the tip of the iceberg. We want to dig deeper and reach out to users who are not familiar with the English language. Launching our mobile app in different languages will enable us to provide the unique sports engagement experience that Rooter delivers to non-native English speakers.”

Rooter is also focusing extensively on providing its users access to localised sports content. Having curated local content around the Pro League in Saudi Arabia, the platform aims to provide information about popular domestic leagues such as the Bundesliga and the Serie A to its European users.

“Rooter is, first and foremost, a sports engagement platform. Creating greater differentiation through technology and content has been a key focus area for us. The way we have developed the Rooter platform allows us to customise it for different locations or languages in just seven to ten days. This gives us a competitive edge and allows us to rapidly scale our operations across multiple geographies by providing local language support and content,” added Akshat.

Selected to be a part of leAD, a Berlin-based sports accelerator run by Adidas, Rooter has been ramping up its technology to provide highly-personalised live sports engagement experiences to its users. It has recently launched its web version, which currently accounts for nearly half of its overall platform traffic. Offering free-to-play live games like prediction and draft fantasy, as well as connecting fans through live match chat rooms and personalised social feeds, Rooter aims to increase its user base to 10 million before the end of the ICC Cricket World Cup next year.
