According to a recent report by Gartner, cloud computing will constitute the bulk of IT spending by 2016. Q: How do Oracle Cloud Computing solutions helping businesses in India grow seamlessly in such a competitive world where adoption of new technology and innovations are thriving overall growth?

Ans:In just the past 4 years, Oracle invested nearly $20 billion in cloud research and development – and that doesn’t include the billions of “acquired” R&D of our dozens of acquisitions. As a result, Oracle is the only cloud applications provider with a full suite of applications, spanning HR, CRM, ERP, Marketing and literally hundreds of vertical applications in dozens of industries, such as retail, telecommunications, public sector, health care, and financial services.

Q: Do we see Oracle as the leading Company by end of 2016 in cloud business globally by surpassing current leaders such as Amazon and Salesforce? What are your plans for Indian market for year 2016?

Ans: It would be tough to state what position we are in. We know our cloud business is growing. We are acquiring net new customers, and some of our older/ larger/install base customers are adopting a hybrid model using our cloud. It’s a great time to be at Oracle. I’d also like to highlight here that we are the only technology company in the industry to offer all forms of cloud services – whether SaaS or PaaS or IaaS or DaaS. That makes us the #1 comprehensive and the largest cloud company.

Q: How do you see the role of your partners in reaching to the target customer?

Ans: Oracle unveiled a new Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) Cloud Program to help partners accelerate the growth of their Oracle Cloud business by providing them with technical and go-to-market support. Through this new program, partners will be able to showcase their Oracle Cloud expertise, vertical market offerings, and success with customers through new tiers of recognition and progressive benefits.

Oracle’s rapid growth and extensive SaaS, PaaS and IaaS cloud portfolio presents an unparalleled opportunity for partners and customers alike. We can now equip our highly experienced partners with the tools they need to successfully move their customers to modern business models. This vast partner community includes tens of thousands of implementation experts with transferable skills who can help our customers navigate their transition to the cloud.

Q: How do you plan to educate and train your partners for the latest solutions and offerings from Oracle?

Ans: Over the last six months, we’ve doubled our sales and pre-sales team members and we continue to grow that. Previously we had people only in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai. We now also have people in Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Pune. We also hired channel managers to revamp our partners.

We also set up an ISV lab in Bengaluru where any independent software vendor is welcome to test their application and do performance testing in our lab for free. This way they can understand how they can migrate their applications to our platform.
