HP Driving Digital Printing Adoption by Leading Converters Worldwide

HP Inc. announced continued adoption of its digital printing solutionsToday at  interpack 2017, alongside new innovations. HP packaging and labels printing is gaining traction worldwide with an accelerated pace of customer installations, enabling converters and brands to deliver unmatched possibilities.

Amcor, a leading global flexible packaging supplier headquartered in Switzerland, is operating an HP Indigo 20000 Digital Press, in its Ghent, Belgium facility, to provide digitally printed packaging on a wide range of flexible materials. Since installing the press in 2015, brands have chosen HP Indigo digital print from Amcor for a variety of packaging applications, according to the company.

This installation comes amid growing demand for HP Indigo Series 4 large format digital presses for packaging.  Released in 2014, more than 120 of these presses have been purchased by converters around the world, half in the last year alone following drupa 2016. HP Indigo’s narrow-web Series 3 labels and packaging presses, including the HP Indigo 8000 and HP Indigo 6000 series, have reached 1200 installed units.

Additionally, an exceptional brand campaign was just launched by Amarula, the South African producer of cream liqueur. A special edition of 400,000 bottles is now released with labels individualized by HP Indigo digital print and HP SmartStream Mosaic variable design technology. In a perfect example of what brands can do only with HP Indigo digital printing, each bottle features a unique elephant icon and name representing the same remaining number of the endangered African species.

“The packaging industry is driven by brands that want to delight customers, reduce time to market, optimize supply chains, and deliver security solutions. Only HP digital printing can deliver solutions for such challenges,” said Santi Morera, general manager, HP Inc. Graphics Solutions Business. “Our customers benefit from solutions that help them differentiate and better serve their clients.”
