Google Play Peer-to-peer App Feature Starts with SHAREit Partnership

Google Play has always put users’ safety as its priority. In June, Google Play has started to add security metadata to all apps and app updates to help verify product authenticity from Google Play. Now, it has trusted SHAREit to securely deliver android apps from one device to another without internet connection.

The internet giant has integrated its security metadata into SHAREit platform, debuting the first peer-to-peer sharing app with such integration.

According to recent report, Indians have downloaded 36.9 billion apps from Google Play Store. Not only from Google Play, in emerging countries like India, apps are often transferred from one user to another using peer to peer transfer apps like SHAREit. Apps usage has also witnessed 6% growth in 2017. As apps are having more important role in Indians life, keeping an app secure and authentic is a first thing to do before using an app. Google Play and SHAREit are joining hands to tackle the issue, providing a simpler, internet-less, and safer method to acquire apps for users.

Once a user transfers the app using SHAREit, users can have one click to install the app through SHAREit platform and if you have transferred several apps at one time, you can click “install all” to install all apps at once subject to the app is verified by Play Protect. This brings simplicity and security to all android users who have bad internet connection, or simply want to save internet data by transferring apps directly to each other through SHAREit, and avoid installing fake and malware apps at the same time.
