Samsung India has received phenomenal response for its recently-launched Galaxy S10 line of flagship smartphones. Samsung, India’s number 1 smartphone company in the premium segment (>Rs. 30,000), has consolidated its leadership on the back of strong sales of Galaxy S10 line.
According to data from GfK, which captures retail offtake and not shipments, Samsung had 76.5% volume market share and 77% value market share in the >Rs 30,000 price segment in March. Three out of four smartphones sold in the premium segment during March were Galaxy S10 smartphones.
Galaxy S10+ also helped Samsung consolidate its market leadership in the January to March 2019 quarter (Q1). Samsung had 68.9% volume market share and 65.9% value market share in the first quarter of 2019, according to GfK data.
