FAIITA May Advise Partners Not to Sell Autodesk Over Unfair Pricing Policy

FAIITA, the largest Association of Indian IT Market, has written a letter and has sought an explanation from Autodesk over unfair pricing issue which has affected the partners across India.

As per the recent report, Autodesk, an American software corporation is offering unfair discounts on its online platform. The Multi-national company is offering a disruptive 20% huge discount on its online platform and according to a report posted on certain channel media, the company has asked its offline partners to sell the software on high rates which will help them to increase their online sales from 5% to 50%.

When this issue was brought to notice from Autodesk authorised partners, FAIITA wrote a letter to Alok Sharma, Country Manager Channels, Autodesk and asked them to clarify over this unethical business practices.

Saket Kapur, General Secretary FAIITA wrote, “We at Federation of All India Information Technology Associations(FAIITA), a national umbrella Federation over all other IT Associations in the country, representing business interests of over 35000 pan India IT channel partners, have received a grieving escalation from Dealers of Autodesk products of unfair discounts exceeding 20% below 'DTP' (Dealer Transfer Price) across products, being offered on Autodesk website "https:/www.autodesk.in/buy-online". It is important to mention that, such disproportionate and aggro discounting has spoilt the market hygiene and caused great injury to channel business.”

He further added, “Advisably, a meeting between the FAIITA members and Autodesk representatives is immenently required to understand the reasonable reason behind the Autodesk's endeavour to promote the online business at the cost of channel health. Silence in this regard from your end will imply shift of Autodesk focus from Channel Partners, thus impelling us to issue an advisory to all channel partners across the country informing the change.”

However, FAIITA is now looking forward to getting a response from the company before taking any tough action against Autodesk. We all are aware that, FAIITA has been always ahead in fighting for the interest of channel partners since it’s inception. FAIITA recently conducted a meeting in Delhi regarding the concern on price disruption between online and offline market ahead of the festive season. They ended upon getting consent from all leading brands over keeping a Zero Tolerance’ on unfair pricing policy between online and offline channels. Click Here to Read This complete Story
