Hon’ble Minister of Finance, Corporate affairs and for Information & Broadcasting, Arun Jaitley and Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore Inaugurated the 21st Edition of BES EXPO 2015 - International Conference & Exhibition on Terrestrial and Satellite Broadcasting at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
The three days expo is organized by Broadcast Engineering Society (India) and scheduled from 15th to 17th January 2015, with the participation of 60 companies including globally renowned brands like Sony, Dolby, Just Canon, Horizon Broadcast, AGIV India, BECIL, Cineom, Huawei & Falcon Technologies etc. Sh. Bimal Julka (Secretary, Min. of I&B), Dr. A Surya Prakash (Chairman, Prasar Bharti), Sh. Ajay Vidyasagar (Regional Director, Youtube Partnership-youtube, Asia-Pecific) was also present at the inauguration ceremony.
THE BES 2015 conference with the theme of “Social media and broadcasting: New opportunities” shall have reputed and eminent speakers, media industry professionals from India and abroad speaking on state-of-the-art topics. In the Exhibition about 300 highly reputed broadcast equipment manufacturers, industries, companies, broadcast professionals and service providers from all over the world shall be displaying their latest products, the state of the art technologies and services. This will present a very good picture of globally changing scenario of broadcasting. The main objectives of the BES(I) are to promote the advancement and dissemination of knowledge & practices of broadcasting in the field of Radio, Television & the media and To enhance the knowledge of broadcast engineering professionals.
Mr. Arun Jaitely Hon’ble Minister of Finance, Corporate Affairs and for Information & Broadcasting, Govt. of India said, “It is privileged for me to do the announcement in broadcasting industry .There is one sector which has changed the way of life literally that's the broadcasting sector ,It is the fastest communication and extremely accessible and today we do not know what is slightly to happen as we look down the things. Na this BES Expo which is put up today will also have the great value as far as the stakeholders in industry are concerned.”
Mr. O. K. Sharma, President Broadcast Engineering Society (India) said, “This year’s theme of the expo is Social Media and Broadcasting New opportunities, slightly different from the previous year, BES India trying to expand the base beyond core broadcasting”.
BES EXPOs have been approved by Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Govt. of India and endorsed by the International Association of Broadcast Manufacturers (IABM) and DRM. These events have been supported by Prasar Bharati, ABU, UNESCO, Society of Broadcast Engineers, USA, Ministry of Communications & IT, Govt. of India and IGNOU.
