AnimeCon & Phoenix Gaming Expo launch at Palladium Chennai as part of September Fest

This September, Phoenix Marketcity & Palladium, Chennai, will host their first ever September Fest from 14th September to 7th October. The festival will showcase and highlight different elements of Anime, Asian Cinema, Korean beauty trends and eSports across the mall.

The festival will explore the growing interest in Asian culture across the world by bringing leading brands, make-up artists and filmmakers to Chennai. “September Fest represents our most expansive program to date at Phoenix Marketcity & Palladium, Chennai, and we are delighted to be able to offer such a wide range of events for everyone in Chennai from Korean makeup classes to cosplays to eSports competitions” Murugan Rajan, Center Director at Palladium and Phoenix Marketcity, Chennai

AnimeCon, September 14-16 Emulated from Cosplay events across the world, AnimeCon will see the mall taken over by a series of art works and engaging workshops inspired by the Japanese culture of Anime and Manga. Events include a pop-up Japanese inspired Maid Café, Karaoke booths and a Manga Lounge featuring workshops such as ‘Make your own Manga’ amongst many others.

In addition, cosplayers from across India will be invited to take part in a public cosplay competition with a prize pool of Rs. 5,00,000/-. Participants include Chiichi (World Cosplay Summit India participant, 2017), Onorin (India gaming Show 2017, runner up), Chakbi (Shangrila Cosfest Winner 2017) and Tsuyoshi Shiba (Cosfest Champion 2016) amongst others.

K-BeautyCon, September 20-26 Inspired by Korea’s leading position in the world of beauty and cosmetics, K-BeautyCon will feature 17 of the top Korean beauty and skincare brands. Additionally, interactive events like skincare classes, blogger meets and panel discussions will create an exhilarating experience for the Chennai audience. Participating brands include Seoul made, Lovgirl, Shiroy, Kombum Thimilum, Daisy, IKR, Beauty One, Urok , Darj, Kekei, Neos, Dear Klairs & Limese (Coony + Lock).

Phoenix Gaming Expo (PGX), September 28-30 September Fest will bring together gamers from across India for an eSports competition hosted in an unprecedented scale. The expo is backed by some of the leading names in video games, technology and electronics like Sony, Asus, Corsair and Tencent. Games will include FIFA 18, DOTA 2 and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds with one of the largest prize pools of Rs.15,00,000.

Asian Cine Experience, October 3-7 This international film festival will host a series of screenings curated from the best of independent cinema from South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Iran and India. Simultaneously, there will be a number of talks, panel discussions and filmmaking workshops for children. Featured films include Boarding Pass (Iranian Movie Premiere), FukuChan (Japanese), It Takes Two to Tango (Taiwanese), Monkey Twins ( Thailand ), Cape No.7 (Taiwanese), Fine Totally Fine ( Japanese ), Barf (Iranian), Zero to Podium (Iranian), Banting ( Singapore), Taal (Bollywood) & Ram Lakhan (Bollywood).
