Sony announced its new BRAVIA OLED television designed to deliver enhanced contrast, color and clarity. The A8F series is aimed at redefining the future of home entertainment and is the newest OLED option for users to enjoy refined 4K HDR picture quality thanks to Sony’s proprietary innovations.

In 2017 Sony introduced a new 4K HDR OLED TV under the BRAVIA range to offer customers even more premium options when purchasing a TV. The BRAVIA OLED A1 series has been extremely well received by customers and reviewers thanks to its innovative One Slate design blending together with exceptional picture quality and immersive sound coming directly from the screen itself via the Acoustic Surface™ technology. Building on these innovations, Sony expands its BRAVIA OLED line-up to deliver cutting-edge premium OLED TVs to a wider audience. The new A8F series inherits Sony’s unique 4K HDR picture processor-X1™ Extreme, and the Acoustic Surface technology to give not only high visual quality but also an awe-inspiring sound experience.

The A8F series produces an incredible detailed picture with deep blacks, rich and realistic colours and an exceptionally wide viewing angle. Sony’s more than half a century worth of picture processing expertise lends to precise control of the 8 million OLED pixels for a stunning realization of an unparalleled 4K HDR picture, while Acoustic Surface technology allows the sound to come from the screen, creating an all-round entertainment experience along with a beautiful picture.

A8F series has a clean, minimalist design that keeps one focused on what's important - the picture. Its new design with minimised stand allows A8F to be positioned in a wider range of locations.

Experience unmatched contrast, clarity and unprecedented black with OLED technology

With over 8 million self-illuminating, individually controlled OLED pixels, the A8F series brings a significantly enriched visual experience with unprecedented black, authentic colour, blur-less image and a wide viewing angle. This level of supreme contrast reveals detail, depth and textures for a view that’s stunningly real. Sony’s unique OLED technology enables one to explore a world that’s totally authentic and closer to reality and helps create exquisite, unprecedented contrast.

Feel the picture with 4K HDR Processor X1™ Extreme

Sony’s 4K HDR Processor X1™ Extreme has been widely acclaimed for its ability to produce lifelike picture with superb texture, depth, colour, and contrast, bringing a significant leap forward in the space of HDR. It provides the ultimate 4K HDR viewing experience by incorporating technologies like Object-based HDR remaster, Super Bit Mapping 4K HDR and Dual database processing. TV viewing is now much closer to reality, thanks to X1 Extreme Chip.

Acoustic Surface™ sound technology

BRAVIA OLED’s innovations do not end with incredible picture performance. The A8F series comes with Acoustic Surface™ technology which emits great sound directly from the screen.

Taking advantage of the OLED’s backlight-less structure, Sony developed a new Acoustic Surface Technology which can emanate sound directly from the screen itself. An integrated subwoofer behind the TV provides deep, powerful bass for all movie experiences. The two innovative actuators behind the TV vibrate the screen to create sound that's truly engaging. This allows a perfect unification of picture and sound unattainable by conventional TVs.

It produces a wide sound and image synchronisation even off to the sides. Together with OLED’s exceptionally wide viewing angle, the A8F series offers unparalleled visual and aural experience regardless of viewing position. The Acoustic Surface™ Technology lends to cutting-edge design of the A1 series by doing away with conventional speakers usually located around the TV. The result is

unique stand-less form factor with no distraction from the picture.

RILUMINOS™ Display showcasing Life-like colours

TRILUMINOS™ Display excels at reproducing reds, greens and blues; colours that are notoriously difficult for TVs to display accurately. It reproduces the finest colour variations for the best pictures.

Stunning details with 4K X-Reality™ Pro

The TV uses 4K X-Reality™ PRO to produce stunning detail with Sony’s unique algorithm of reality creation database for any content, such as TV broadcasting, DVD, Blu-ray Disc, Internet video and digital photos.

Live a smart life with Android TV

The new A8F runs on the Android TV™ version 7.0 with Sony’s exclusive user interface. Sony’s Android TV™ lets one explore the world of movies, music, photos, games, search, apps and more. With Chromecast™ built-in, one can easily send content from the smartphone or tablet to the TV. With access to Google Play™, user can enjoy the favourite movies, TV shows, and games on TV[1] [2]. With the ability to connect and communicate with other smart devices via Artificial Intelligence, this TV is also a personal assistant to its users.

Direct access keys for Netflix, Google play Store

The series comes with dedicated direct access buttons for Netflix and Google play Store. This effortless navigation provides users an opportunity to explore videos & apps in the fastest way. The TV will support Dolby Vision™[3], creating an even more engaging and cinematic experience. HDR compatibility enables it to receive and process the new video standard signal with higher brightness, higher contrast and more vibrant colours via Internet video services and HDMI. Supports HDR 10, Hybrid Log-Gamma and Dolby Vision.

These newly launched models will be available across Sony Center and major electronic stores across India.
